What is an aromatherapy massage
Aromatherapy massage combines the gentle technique of the classic massage with the power of essential oils – concentrated aromatic essences extracted from flowers, herbs, tree bark and citrus fruit. It is a therapy for the body and the senses at once: while the therapist's hands release the muscles, the scent works along its own, subtler path.
The practice has ancient roots – essential oils have been used for healing and ritual in Egypt, China and India for thousands of years. Modern aromatherapy took shape in the early 20th century, when the French chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé described the healing properties of lavender oil and coined the term itself.
The secret of aromatherapy lies in the sense of smell. When you inhale the scent of an essential oil, the molecules reach the olfactory receptors and from there travel directly to the limbic system – the part of the brain that governs emotions, memory and stress. This is why a single scent can calm you within seconds or bring back an entire remembered feeling. At the same time, the active compounds in the oils penetrate the skin and support the effect of the massage.

Aromatherapy is a massage that works through two doors at once – touch and scent.
It doesn't simply relax the body; it gently resets your whole inner state.

- You find it hard to unwind and are looking for a therapy that calms both mind and body.
- You sleep restlessly and want to bring back deep, peaceful sleep.
- You long for a sensory experience rather than simply a treatment.
- You are recovering from an emotionally demanding period and need to restore your inner calm.

The scent is your choiceIf you wish, your therapist will help you choose the scent that best matches your mood and your needs on the day.
When not to have an aromatherapy massage
For your safety, we recommend postponing the massage or consulting your doctor first if:
- You are allergic or hypersensitive to certain essential oils or scents.
- You have bronchial asthma or a severe respiratory condition, where strong scents could trigger an attack.
- You have a fever, an infection or acute inflammation.
- You have skin irritation, a rash or open wounds in the massage area.
- You are pregnant – some essential oils are not suitable during pregnancy (for expectant mothers we offer a specialised pregnancy massage).
- You have epilepsy – certain oils are not recommended with this condition.
Always tell your therapist about any known allergies and sensitivities, so we can choose a scent that is safe and pleasant for you.

What should I bring?
Nothing in particular – come as you feel comfortable. For the massage itself you will stay in your underwear or, if you prefer, in swimwear, covered with a towel throughout. Your discretion and comfort are our priority.
What does Secret SPA provide?
Everything you need – carefully selected quality essential oils, clean towels, a robe and slippers, and a warm atmosphere with soft lighting and music. All you bring is yourself and the wish to immerse in the world of scents.
Preparation and care before and after the massage
Before the massage
- Eat something light an hour or two beforehand – come neither hungry nor full.
- Drink water so your body is well hydrated.
- Avoid wearing strong perfume, so it doesn't clash with the scents of the oils.
- If you have known allergies, mention them in advance.
- Arrive a few minutes early to settle in and leave the rush at the door.
After the massage
- Drink more water over the next few hours.
- If possible, let the oil absorb into your skin for a while before showering – the effect lasts longer that way.
- Give yourself time to rest and sink into the calm the scents leave behind.
- Don't rush back into the pace of the day – let the feeling linger.
